Andrews 1st Birthday

Andrew got a very special 1st Birthday.  None of the other kids will be able to tell the same story.

We didn't have power for a week.  (we had a generator but no water, it was a fun adventure).

We were lucky enough to have Gaggy and Papo, Mr. Bud and Grammy Carol with us for the week.  Unfortunately the snow kept Nana and Papa from being able to join us.  We missed having them here for the celebration.

Normally we have a house full of family and friends for the kids birthdays.  This time we had a quiet night, with a homemade cake and different fun memories.

Natalie helping to make the frosting for her little brother's cake.

We thought Andrew would dive into the cake.  I definitely thought he wouldn't be too shy, I was wrong.

Happy Birthday to our oh so sweet little boy!!!

Finally taking a bite.  Yummy.

Opening presents.  No worries, the big kids will help.

Riding his new Thomas the Train bike.  So cute!!

More SNOW!!!

Oh, my, gosh.  It just gets better and better.  Who needs to go to school anyways??

I think if Natalie was sitting back with Nathan we might not see her.  Nathan said "I can't do snow angels in this snow, I would disappear!" So true.  But that is a great problem to have.

26" is super impressive for us.  Love it, love it, love it!!!

The kids even think shoveling snow is fun.  I wonder if they will feel that way in 10 years?  There is so much snow I actually threw on our snow shoes and tromped around. The only downside... we live in the country and snow plows don't come up here much if at all.  We love that for sledding, but it isn't easy on some of the neighbors for getting groceries. But we did have a Grader come up and that helped out.

I would LOVE to have this kind of snow every year.  I love all of the wet hats, gloves and boots.  I love that we have heated concrete floors so I can just tell the kids to take their clothes off and leave them on the floor.

I love that the snow makes a perfect excuse to come in and drink hot cocoa in front of a beautiful fire.

Snow!!!

I'm not sure that there is anything more fun than the first snow fall, especially when it comes full force.  And sticks around to be played in.

Nathan out on an adventure.

I love having a little pink snow-bunny.

Andrew wishing he was old enough to be out there playing.

What a beautiful site!!!

Making snow angels.

Andrews first haircut

Andrew's first haircut.

Not as easy as Nathan... he was totally zoned out on the movie.  Andrew was almost interested in the movie.

Not as questionable as Natalies.... when Trever gave her a haircut without even asking me, even though I was only 20 feet away.  And then called it a trim... 5" does not equal a trim.  Lucky for all of us, Trever is quite good at haircuts.

I can't believe our little guy is ready for hair cuts.  We might have waited, but the hair was covering his eyes.  He looks like such a big boy now.  Even if it was just a trim. (A real trim, not a 5" trim ;) )

Playing in the mud

This is what happens when Dad's are in charge.

Thank goodness Dad's are in charge sometimes.  It teaches Mom's to relax and let the kids have some fun.  Because really, who cares if a set of PJ's gets absolutely destroyed in a ginormous mud puddle???  That smile is worth it.
